Pilgrims who've ventured to this "small and private" boutique hotel in Downtown's Wholesale District tell tales of its "classic" "charm"; indeed, the edifice itself is "historic" (built in 1928, retaining a facade from the mid-19th century), but recent upgrades include such third-millennium features as flat-screen TVs in the suites and WiFi service; meanwhile, the restaurant's American-Continental cuisine is "great", so though a few may fear quality is "slipping", many maintain that given such "quaintness and uniqueness" no area hotel is choicer.

The hotel was absolutely lovely - I felt very special as a guest.
The rooms all only have one bed, so not good for families.

The decor of the hotel was beautiful, both in the common areas and in the rooms. It is attached to the Circle Center mall and near so many wonderful restaurants that it is too hard to choose. The staff were great and Indianapolis should be proud of such a lovely historic landmark. ...read more

Beautiful old world style building, well-maintained.
I could hear conversations from neighboring rooms very clearly.

We loved the comfy beds and mall entrance, friendly staff, good breakfast.
Rooms very small, but large enough for two...no more, however.

The location in downtown was perfect. that's it.........
Worst room I have stayed in in over 20 years of business travel. The linens were immensely musty. Needed a multi million $ upgrade 10 years ago!!!

I do not recommend that anyone stay here for any reason. The rooms are antiquated the dining area outdated and there was a stinch to match. At most, this is a 2 star hotel.

The location.
This is the worst I have ever stayed at!

Unfriendly and unhelpful staff, the hotel is old, run down and dirty. One of the worst hotels I have every stayed at, apart from the Holiday Inn and the Crowne Plaza of course. Never ever again would I stay here again. ...read more

Noisy, old bathrooms, and bad TVs.

It is not a 4 star. We stayed at the Conrad Hotel before and it was a 4 star. Night and day difference.

Old world charm, convient to downtown.
No ice machine-- was available in room service free.

It was close to restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
